光与尘埃 — LIU YUJIA STUDIO

Due to China's recent implementation of the Natural Forest Conservation Program in the upstream areas of major rivers, most tree plantations in Northeast China have been closed down. The forestry department has shifted its focus from logging to forest protection. In a defunct tree plantation deep in the Changbai Mountains, the artist came across an abandoned plastic greenhouse unutilized for some years. Only light and dust floated in the air, calling to mind a ruin trapped in a whirlpool of time. The artist captured this dream-like liminal space using a 16mm film camera. In the exhibition, this short film is installed above the entrance corridor. As visitors pass through the corridor, it will be as if they are stepping into a vortex of suspended time and space.

由于中国近年来实施河流上游的天然林保护工程，东北关闭了几乎所有林场，林业部门由伐木转向护林。在长白山深处的一座关闭的林场里，艺术家看到一个废弃多年的塑料大棚，飘舞在空中的只有光和尘埃，就像一个置于时间漩涡中的废墟。艺术家用16 毫米电影胶片拍摄了这个梦境般的临界空间。在展览中，这个作品放置在入口走廊的上方。当观众穿过走廊的时候也好像置身于一个时空悬置的漩涡。
